Where are the days going??!?!!? DNA results are IN:)

After uploading some documents decided to take a vacation from genealogy for a few days. Read some books & daily newspaper, crocheted some more preemie caps, did a month worth of laundry, & visited with family:)

I was in information overload from all the old documents Cyn shared. This is one of the documents I got from Cyn:

Juana had signed the Spanish Warranty Deed over to Jose & Elesta on August 19, 1899.
I take issue with my great-grandfather "died about the year 1902." About? But, at least this is another piece of the puzzle. enough said about that.

Wed had lunch with Rose. We had a great time! We went to Isleta Casino for a couple of hours & laughed almost the whole time we lost money. I dropped my allowance:( Then we left & plan on meeting again soon.

Thursday, my daughter, sis & I had lunch at Rudy's BBQ (delicious!) then went shopping so my sis could find something to wear to a grad party. Her coworker's daughter was graduating from Valley High. GO VIKINGS!! She had been asked to help serve & in turn asked us if we wanted to go. My daughter didn't want to go. But, I did. The party was held Friday in a GI Forum close to my old neighborhood where I went to dances as a teenager. Met & talked with tons of people! I have lost my ability to identify families by how they look. But, had mashed potatoes covered in red chile. Yum!
Anyway, while driving there I was astonished by some of the changes. New, huge houses everywhere! Gone are the open fields, small adobe homes with front porches, and, the yards! How big does a house need to be? And construction continues. No preservation, no siembras, no kids playing loudly...sad.

Spent Saturday evening with my granddaughter, her hubby and my great-granddaughter. I can not find the words to express how special they are to me. The ggd has lost most of her front teeth! Have a very cute picture of this, but I don't like to expose children's images on public places unless absolutely necessary. She is full of vitality. Acts a lot like my son, her grandfather. And, tells me "I luv you gamma." in a small cute voice:))
My gd & I talked until midnight. I am very proud of the woman she has become:)

Yesterday met my sis at Costco so we could get a shared membership. I was sorely tempted to buy some fresh lamb chops, and, other things. Would have brought home some frozen stuff if I had a freezer. That's in the plan. A small freezer. Maybe I should have gone ahead & purchased those lamb chops, because in today's paper is also another article titled "MEAT FROM STEM CELLS IS 'FOOD OF THE FUTURE'.  Sure, let's just alter every thing we eat. Pinto beans sound better & better.
When we walked into Costco we could smell coffee. Heavenly smell. Walked all over the store and kept smelling it. Finally found a New Mexico Pinon Coffee sample booth. The guy serving looks a lot like Jimmy Fallon. Asked him if I could take his pic & send it to the Tonight Show. He said as long as I said a lot about the coffee. The special was buy 1 pound-get the second 1 FREE. Of course, I purchased it;) It's delicious-o!

Had to download so many computer updates that I didn't have time to get back on track with family history yesterday.

On a newspaper irritation: the headline on the Health & Science page, dated 5/22/2014 is Federal 'bailout' added to health care law. The first sentence: "WASHINGTON-- The Obama administration has quietly adjusted key provisions of its signature health care law to potentially make billions of additional taxpayer dollars available to insurance industry if companies providing coverage through the Affordable Care Act lose money."
The article was written by Namo N Levey for the Tribune Washington Bureau

1.   I really shouldn't read articles like the above first thing in the morning!
2.   Aren't the companies all losing money?
3.   Doctor's are losing money.
4.   We---THE taxpayers--- are losing money AND proper health care.
5.   Where are the billions of dollars? <-----rhetorical question. In the trillions of dollars deficit?!

Sometime during the past few days I squeezed in a pedicure, then a manicure. In light of the above, money well worth spent. Rented the movie Frozen. I really like animated, made-for-kids-movies. Don't see what the fuss was about.

And last but not least. I received my DNA results!!!! So much info.
