Blessing upon blessing upon blessing

Feel like Gru in Despicable Me when he is reading a bedtime story to his adopted daughters. "You call this literature? This is garbage. It goes on forever." :D Except that when looking back at the week I realize that He has heaped blessings on me all week!

Have started this entry several times. Now I will dedicate the afternoon to finishing.

Blessing:
Easter Sunday met Bren, Rudy & Dave for supper at Sweet Tomatoes. Eating healthy again. Nice visit. The streets in Albuquerque were eerily empty. The restaurant was about half full, as opposed to the church service which was packed out!
And, the Spring winds have started. I don't mind the wind here. Grew up listening to the tree leaves rustling with a soothing tempo. I can look outside and watch the trees waving. It does get dusty, but NOT like the chocking brown air in Deming. Gotta love those that stay there.

Blessing:
Spent Monday afternoon with my cousin Harold. He is 73 years old! The years have flown by. Actually didn't leave his house until 11:50 PM. He has such great memories about Grandma Deluvina, Aunt Maria, Aunt Rufina, some of our great-uncles families and the neighborhood that most of us grew up in. Everybody else just says, "We loved her so much." about Grandma. But Earl has great stories. Unfortunately my digital recorder turned OFF when I dropped it. So only have 2.2  of 5 hrs of reminiscing. His daughter Shirley was there for a while too. He received several calls from his daughters & Veronica(sister) during the evening. He showed me pics of my Aunt & Uncle (his parents) when they were very young. I don't remember them without wrinkles! So taking my scanner next time I visit.
Am also taking him copies of old Garcia family pics. He doesn't have any. That was surprising to me. I guess he didn't inherent the camera bug like most of us. Some of our pics are pathetic, but we got the moment in perpetuity;)
He also talked about family members I'd never heard of. The greatest treasure he shared was an old family Bible that had 2 births documented. Rufina had given birth to a stillborn girl, and a son that lived for one hour. The entries were made by Auntie Alice in pencil but still very readable. Now I will use FB to post a couple of pictures of Rufina's daughters. They grew up in CA after her death. I hope someone recognizes them.
Earl encouraged me to write a book about our family:) Which I hope to do. He also told me to watch 12 Years A Slave. What's peculiar is that the movie was in my purse! Rented it from a RedBox in the Valley because it was always out around my neighborhood. It's a great story.

Blessing:
Got to see a prescreening of Cash For Kids on Wed with Char & her office coworkers. That judge ruined so many kids lives and sadly could not admit his guilt. Some of you may remember when that story made national news. So I won't ruin it for you.
Thu Char had prescreening tickets to The Other Woman. Unfortunately is was overbooked so we didn't see it. We decided to go to Costco for their great hot-dogs & yogurt sundaes. Simple pleasures.
Had planned to attend Miss Native American Universe pageant. Didn't make it

Blessing:
We did go to the Gathering of Nations of Friday. All I can say is WOW! I hope to attend again next year.
Our cousin 'Sister' died Mon surrounded by some of her loving family. Her rosary was held Fri at 5 PM in Los Lunas. We couldn't get there in time. God is good. An uncle that I haven't had any contact with, for various reasons, was there with my cousin Lydia. God protected me from attending & doing something stupid & disrespectful.

Blessing:
Had told Veronica that I was going to visit an old neighbor that may be able to tell the where-abouts of my nephew Marty. The next day, Marty's Mom went to Wal-Mart, where Vero works, and gave her his cell number. I called him Sun night & we talked for 2 hours. Hadn't seen him since 2001! We have a lot of catching up to do. Maybe next weekend.

Blessing:
Yesterday had to walk a long way to get into church. The ushers were moving people to squeeze in more. Great message.

How was your week?

Be blessed!
