Here it comes*****there it goes; CHRISTmas is almost here!!

Good morning!!!

I woke up to a continuous, light snowfall. It's almost 10 AM & it's still falling. I love the seasons. Don't you? The snow is sticking to everything:) My title for this entry is most likely incorrect because in Deming the snow would be gone by now. This storm is expected to stick around for two days.
There are several fifty foot tall trees in the common area outside my balcony. There's atleast one inch of the white stuff on the bigger branches. It's only been a week since all the leaves fell off. Today I would just like to crawl up with my very pink and yellow (GIRLISH) afghan, watch Christmas specials and read during the commercials. But, wait, I don't own a television! But I do have a Kindle Fire, so I can que up any movie, TV specials, or classics for my viewing pleasure. May just do that: take a day off from unpacking & organizing. Because, DUH, I'm Retired! Just haven't got into the swing of it yet.

Retired?

Yesterday I conversed via text with several friends and family. Amazing how texting has taken over our lives. Except for my sister, God bless her, who refuses to get a cell phone and seldom turns her computer on. Hmm. She gets to retire in 11+ months. We are looking forward to exploring New Mexico along with other family members that would be willing to go with us.
After one of my friends asked how retired life was treating me, I decide to stop for the day and take a swim followed by a quick dip into the Jacuzzi. Aah, bliss. Not a single arthritic pain while floating, swimming, or walking in the water. Bless--ed relief. But, Arthur decided to hitch a ride on the walk back to my apartment. Darn.
The previous day I decided to explore my neighborhood, ended up at a HUGE lumber store and bought one of those DIY shelf units. Came with 4 cloth baskets. Borrowed a dolly from the office and had a bear of a time getting it up to my place. Not only did I get in a two hour walk in the store, it took 2 days to put the unit together & it looks great. My kids had put a steel shelf unit together for me a few days ago. I can see that I still have way more junk than I need.
Put ALL my scrubs in a box for some other poor medical person to use. I am retired, na, na, na, na, na na na na, hey hey good bye
Anyway, my granddaughter, great-granddaughter & grandson-in-law are supposed to visit today sometime. But unfortunately, they live on the other side of the city and I am not keen on having them on the road during this storm. Albuquerque is notorious for black ice. Tricky maneuvering if you're the only one on the road.
The stereo is working, so I Can listen to Christian music and sermons. PTL!
I love Christmas! My last few of them were bah humbug. BUT, this year I am pulling out all the stops. Food, family, decos.  I decorated my tree in the balcony, strung some lights and plan on stringing some more:) Maybe so it can be seen from outer space;) Psych.

Yep still snowing. Time for brunch and a day of R & R. (it'll be here tomorrow) Thank God for blessing me with His Son and my retirement.
