On a lighter note, or, not

I am simply amazed at the amount of rain in our state and particularly in Albuquerque. Love it. Maybe the lakes will fill up:)

Health! Yuck!
Not too long after Gayla died I had a flare-up:( Fibromyalgia, swollen hip, muscle cramps, kneecaps and numb hands from my bone spurs. Lotsa pain with no way to alleviate it. I tried aspirin, aleve, tylenol and ibuprofen. Hauled my sorry butt to the local wally world to find something with codeine, Didn't know it was behind the counter so I didn't get any. Came back home and applied hot and cold pads, Arnica gel, Zostrix, and Thera Gesic, to little avail. So while I prayed and tried to get some pain relief I did what I usually do when there is no end in sight. I gritted my teeth and broke my two front upper teeth, Miserable way to end up at the dentist, no? Next day I went to the dentist to see if he could repair mis dientes. Yep. Went back at 2 PM and so he did a great job. I didn't have to take any antibiotics prior to the procedure because I didn't need any kind of anesthesia. YAY! Of course, my doc is out of town on a family emergency. Was advised to go to urgent care or ER. Just what I want to do. Then be accused of being a pill seeker. I was sorely tempted to hit the streets and buy some Percocet or oxy. But my better judgment kicked in. Took 2 days to run its course. I do not like pain.
Saw Taco Cabana and bought lengua tacos. Yummy. That was the bright spot in the 3 miserable days:)

I finally got to go fishing!!! Cyn and I went to Isleta Lakes the Friday before Labor Day. We were there before 8:30 AM. Shocker for me;) The lady that processed our permit said there were several catfish with $1000.00 tags still in the lakes. Cyn caught a catfish! Nope. We didn't get a tagged one.  But we fished until it started to rain in earnest. We packed up and headed to the non-smoking casino and I won $97.00 on my freeplay:) Cyn hadn't smoked in 15 days! yay! Hope she keeps going. We then headed to Cracker Barrel for the Friday fish fry. Of course I had catfish. Cyn had cod. I was so full I thought I'd fall asleep on the road home. Insomnia has its benefits. We shopped in the store. I bought a blouse, cape coat and crossbody purse for an upcoming trip to Chama:) We gabbed all day:)

The following Tuesday I got an email from Route 66 casino advertising their 2 for 1 buffet. Texted Char and off we went. I really didn't know it was Tue. Love retirement. Anyway, we ate and played a little. When we were about to leave Char talked to a woman about the slot tournament. Neither of us have ever played. I won $25:) Works for me.

My sis bought tickets for the Cumbres Toltec train from Chama to Antonito. So Char, Bren, Dave, Josh, Elias and I headed to Chama on Fri for the train ride on Sat. We stopped in Santa Fe for lunch, then at the Echo Amphitheater before heading to my favorite place in NM, Heron Lake. I have never seen the lake so low. Please send rain Lord. Alas, the train ride was not was not meant to be. Bren got sick and she and Dave went back to Albuquerque at 5 AM Sat. Elias wasn't feeling well either. But we boarded the train and made it to the half way point of Osier, CO where we stopped for lunch. Poor little guy was in and out of the toilet the whole trip. Finally had a power puke incident on the train stairs when he was trying to get off to walk.
The staff and most of the passengers are courteous and expressed concern and possible solutions. Very helpful. I say most of the passengers because a family of 4 sat not too far from us. Mom and one of the kids complained almost non-stop. It was like being in the same room with a complainer, nag and whiner. Sort of like mom, and 2 ex-husbands. Brraaaahhaaahhhaaa;) I repent! Thank you assigned seating. I walked back to the Gondola car to enjoy the view and escape the 2. Stayed out there for quite a while and until little whiner walked out and stood by me. So back I went to my assigned seat. Mom was complaining loudly at this point. So my sis said she was outa there. Meaning the end of the train. Well she started complaining about my poor grandnephew's being sick. Bad girl. Like I've said before my family is off limits, and, it's a curse to have acute hearing. I prayed for God to hold my tongue or help me curb what I really wanted to say. On our way off one train to board the other I walked out the back exit and in  my kindest, pointed Southern drawl said, "I hope y'all can enjoy the rest of your trip now." Sis said she wondered why she was crying when she walked by. Another thing I've repentant for.We got on the train headed back to Chama. By the time we got there Elias was feeling much better. Char said this trip was not meant to be. God intervened for a reason. Thank You Lord. We got home safe and sound:)

Lotsa walking on rough terrain for me. My hip has been "acting" up as in hurts like hell! Here comes another doctor visit. Anyway, my hip was swollen and soar, muscle cramps, my left foot feels like something is dislocated. Consumed too much salt during the past 2 weeks and had a CHF episode. Wheezing, heart rate pounding at 120, SpO2 78-86%. Meds, meds, meds. No I didn't seek medical help. I relaxed, took deep breaths, furosemide, clonidine and BP meds. Took a couple of hours to finally reach a steady state. All that because I was going to sleep as long as my body would let me on Sunday! My sleep pattern has been drastically altered with all the social activity. But IT WAS worth every minute.!
Sunday I slept until 1 PM. Aaaah! Life is good.

And a good time was had by all:))

And today is Monday:)) Have a day full of blessings and may God send his angels to pray and watch over all of us^0^

I pray for the world craziness, God's kindness to shine on the refugees, and our shores. Make is diligent in how we choose to act during this time in our history. You know how all will turn out. Your will be done.
