Inside Luna County Abstract & Title Co
While cruising through my pictures, found this one that I took on 10/09/2013 while waiting for my copy of the mortgage that took about an hour to sign. Was wondering around their office to keep from having to make small talk with the ex and thought this was an unusual piece, but very pretty. I was sorely tempted to just say, "Forget it. I already have a buyer." That would have enabled me to cut all ties and move forward. But, DAMN, the morals instilled by my Grandpa that my word was the only thing that I could control in life just kept me from bolting.
What brought this posting is that I was able to unpack and put up some of my art pieces and family pictures. The place is getting homier:) Still have an 8 foot wall of shame--not really. It's a wall of yarn. I thought I had enough yarn until the day I meet my Maker, but couldn't resist Sock Yarn at 40% off regular price. I'm a sucker for "SALE" signs.
My other weakness is new cars. All the 2014 automobile sales have me itching to buy. My family says "Don't mention cars around her. She'll end up buying one." So far no sale.
Three days later I signed all the necessary paperwork to establish my retirement budget. Finally got to speak with a man who's wife was a nurse and understood the need for no b-s. Get 'er done! Before this I had spoken with 4 other agents that kept wanting to tell me to leave my 401 K in their capable hands. Sort of like, "I'll take care of it for you little lady." What the hell was that? Didn't spend too much time running my cell phone battery down with those pendejos.
Ladies and gentlemen be diligent and mildly aggressive when if "it smells bad, it is bad."
So on 11/20/2013 I left work at 5 PM to get to my sister's place before too late. A 3 hour drive with a hip that still HURTS! (Hip was replaced 6/18/2013) Go figure. Anyway, the next day I did a walk through my new apartment, signed the lease, had lunch with Bren & Char, and, headed back to Deming for work the next day-11/22/2013.
Needless to say, but I will...that was my last day at MMH. Praise the Lord! I had planned to work until March 2014, But can't publish what happened until I get the official okey-dokey. It is in draft form ready to go:) Mostly the sentences I pulled from my 1st resignation/retirement letter. Had to modify the 1st one, that's why there are big gaps between sentences. But I did print a copy for myself;)
Have the TV on World News. Mall shooting on Maryland, Egypt in turmoil, French president stating that his personal life doesn't effect his business life (what a crock), food labels changing to advise of "actual" size portions, some psycho(s) sending pig heads to Holocaust museums, a woman selling $10 million jewelry to protect dogs, Kiev and Russia in almost total turmoil. Putin is an idiot. Blaming "the West" for the bombings. I wish our athletes wouldn't go. What was the Olympic Committee thinking to give the nod to Russia? I'll probably have my computer confiscated for those statements. Why would someone open fire on total strangers? Except for self preservation, of course.
Kudos for those people that strive to help instead of hinder humanity.
Come Lord Jesus.
Have a blessed day.
