Diplomacy

Diplomacy. Now that is an interesting word.

Definition per Mirriam-Webster dictionary: : the work of maintaining good relations between the governments of different countries
: skill in dealing with others without causing bad feelings

The former is a joke in these times. And the players keep changing. Hmm. Sort of like the treaties signed with Native Americans?
The latter is hard to maintain when dealing with people that----just----can't----seem----to----keep----their----word. Makes me long for elementary school days when taking care of problems and clearing the air were a matter of _________________ fill in the blank;)

Which sometimes as adults leads to this "Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive."

Okay. Enough of the macabre side of life.

Had a great birthday and Thanksgiving with my family:) Great food, excellent company. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. I have so much to be thankful for. The Lord has blessed me every day. And, I am still eating leftovers. The apple pie, ice cream and mac and cheeses are just as tasty. We had ham instead of turkey. I wanted to serve brisket but could not find any. The butcher at Smith's said that brisket has become a very popular alternative for turkey. Go figure. Next year I'll have to buy one during the summer and freeze it.
November 21 was my first  year retirement anniversary. That wasn't celebrated, and actually passed by without any fanfare. I was finally able to return my sister's many favors by helping her during recovery from surgery. I am happy to report that she is doing very well!
During my stay at her house, I had the pleasure of playing Scrabble with her grandson. Told him that he had to play with me, over the next few years, until he beat me. He has taken on the task;) We also played Monopoly. I have never won a Monopoly game in my life. He assured me he could teach me how to win. but, he won and lost interest in teaching me the finer points of winning:(

Christmas is almost here!!! I love Christmas. Will be decorating my balcony this Thursday with my daughter's help. God willing. Hope to put up more lights than last year. I LOVE Christmas:))
I've been taking pictures of decorations. The River of Lights display is open!
Have also decided to do minimal ancestry research until the new year. Can you believe it will be 2015?! A new Star Wars movie will be released! Where did 2014 go?
Also the "decluttering" will have to wait until 2015. Eeeyah!

I did not brave the Black Friday or Cyber Monday sales. But I did walk through Costco and Wal-Mart today for necessities. Not the crowds I expected. Had a very pleasant shopping experience.

Have a wonderful Christmas. Remember our persecuted brothers and sisters, the military, our country and believers in your prayers.

(and abolish obamacare. Well maybe;) We should be so lucky.
