How can you explain in words the fire inside you?

One of the many flaws(?) pointed out by my ex, before it was evident that the union must be dissolved, is that I am an adrenaline junkie. It served me well for 38 years in the medical field:)
Now-a-days, I exert a huge amount of time & effort connecting, visiting, scanning pictures & documents, recording stories and totally enjoying my family. It's a total high for me. And like most highs, there is the inevitable post high drop causing me to spend a whole day either reading or crocheting. Sometimes in total silence. The beauty of this is that it gives me time to process all this info in the hopes of putting together a complete family tree from our ancestors in the 16th century to the present.
Another one of my projects is putting together a book of my son for my granddaughter & great-granddaughter. I explained that we are so much more than the facade we use to protect our heart. We are shaped by everything we see or hear.
Some of the things that happened over the last 2 weeks are:
Char, Bren & I had lunch at a very nice vegan restaurant. Bren said, "You'll be hungry in 2 hours." And, almost to the minute, I was hungry.
Bren went to a Macy's clearance sale with me. Actually I bought a Groupon for caramel apples at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Cottonwood Mall. $15.00 for 4 candied apples which ususally cost $6.50 each. My favorite are caramel  and pecan. Yummy. That morning there was a flyer in the newspaper for Macy's. <---attempt to justify candy:p Anyway, we found some great deals. Then late lunch at Panera's. Wonderful day spent with my daughter:)

Saturday my $100.00 debit reward card arrived in our late mail. Sunday I went on a yarn buying binge with said debit card:) Also stopped at Gayla's house to leave a note trying to establish another connection. Gayla, Eileen & Elaine(twins) are my Tio Tomas' daughters. Haven't seen or talked with them for 25+ years. But the twins pics were in Tia Florenia's albums and I just had to try and connect.

Sunday my Sis had her 53rd birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Here Sis is about 6 months old. Mom would often color pictures.
This is one of my favorite pics of my Sis.
The day she was born our brother Floyd rode his bike up and down the neighborhood yelling, "We have a sister!"
Very cool;)

She took Monday off. So, we celebrated her birthday on Tuesday. We went to the Dynamax to see Jerusalem, supper at Dion's and a visit to the site of "the fire." We tried to find a shortcut to the ditch road for a picture of the burn marks on the cottonwood tree left by the fire.
Her plan is to retire in November. God willing. I hope so. Then we can take some road trips.

Monday I stopped by Earl's so he could help identify some of the pics in Florenia's albums. Thank God he has a great memory. We also filled out a military record form to add to Ancestry.
Left Earl's and went by Gayla's. Her gates were opened so I walked up and knocked on a window. We were so happy to finally connect. We talked until 11:00 PM. Got to meet her husband and daughter. Wonderful! We would have talked all night, both being insomniacs. But, her hubby was yawning:) Gayla had just got back from CO visiting Eileen. Elaine lives in RR. She has a picture of Tomas when he was about 16 that she is going to dig up. Wow! Another blessing. It's amazing we both mentioned consejos given to us by Tomas & Grandpa Julian. They were brothers and had a very special bond. Also both served as our sanctuary from our mothers. What is it about mother/daughter relationships. Can't have 2 women in the same kitchen?;)) Her hubby was very surprised that their dogs didn't bark at me. They must know I'm a dog person:))

Wednesday went to doc with Bren, then a meal at the Pueblo Harvest Cafe. Ordered an Indian Taco with carne adovada. This thing was huge!

Thursday after a mani/pedi, I met with Veronica to exchange the 3 albums for another 3. This picture was in one of the albums:

This is the day of my first marriage. I was pregnant & 2 months away from my 16th birthday, and not happy. Veronica & I laughed about me locking myself in the bathroom and telling Nana(Florenia) that I had changed my mind. Mom was in the hospital so Nana was doing most of the cooking. She got very flustered with me. She knew that I wouldn't care if she threatened or yelled at me. So after 4 times of talking through the door to me, she found my Gramps. He stood at the door and told me I would keep my word. Yech. So I got married & stayed for almost 19 years. Three really good things came from those 19 years. My kids, education and a life of helping others. Then like my 2nd marriage to "steady-eddy" the time to say Adios finally came;)
The nicho above my head was made by Uncle Joe out of paper mache. I don't recall when it was made. Probably before I was born. That statue sat in the nicho until Mom died in 2005.
My time with Veronica was supposed to be for "a few minutes". 4 hours later we said our good-byes. But not before deciding that we needed to have a memory fest with our other girl cousins. Hope we can set that up.
The plan is to visit with Uncle Joe's daughter soon. Probably produce another high. Yee-haw!

And, miraculously, the CD/DVD player on my puter started working. I have hundreds of pics on CDs that I can now download.

How did you spend the last 2 weeks? Were they full of blessings? I hope so.

Pray for God's chosen, our nation and anything else on your heart. Thank You Lord for the rain on our parched state.
