History

How does one express enough gratitude for the people that come and in and out one's life? These events can only be blessings from God.

My cousin Gayla:

Gayla Garcia-Braeutigam Obituary

Gayla L. Garcia - Braeutigam, age 62, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away in the late evening of Wednesday August 12, 2015 at Gentiva Hospice, surrounded by loved ones after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Memorial Services are to be held at Daniels Family Funeral Carlisle Chapel, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 10:00 am with reception to follow. The family would like to thank the staff at UNM Hospital, Gentiva Hospice and Daniels Family Funeral Services. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/abqjournal/obituary

She became an accomplished seamstress at a very early age and made most if not all her and  her sisters gowns. Her sisters being my twin cousins from Tio Tomas. Her ability to recall everybody's name was impressive.  She was outspoken, funny, and other things----like all of us. Although not rambunctious. I am so glad that her family was at her bedside when she passed. She will be missed.

I was unable to attend Gayla's memorial service because my sister had already planned to take my brother-in-law's ashes to La Jara and bury them on a mountain top. Bren and Dave drove my car to La Jara while I sat in the back seat and enjoyed the landscape. His mother was able to make the trip which truly blessed my sister and nephew. His 2 brothers, their wives and several nieces  and nephews were also there.  His cremains were laid to rest on land left by his father and a place where they enjoyed many family times. Elmer was a man of God and is surely in heaven. Char had his name, dob and dod inscribed on this cross.

I couldn't stay for the whole day. Got home at 5 PM.  Char texted at 10:00 PM when she got home.

It's sad to go to the Jemez Mountains and not be able to walk around like I used too.

This has been a difficult blog to write, rewrite and post. Don't know why. Started writing after Gayla died but could only post it now. Please pray for her family. I will miss her.

May God bless your days.
