Endless blessings during the past 7 days. Heart fuller. Peace of mind. Very little stress:)
Sunday ended with a visit and supper with my granddaughter and family. So many memories shared and created. I am so proud of the woman she has become.
Memories are created from our own point of view. Like the Gospels. Sharing these memories makes the 'picture' clearer. Good reason to stay connected.
Monday and Tuesday spent uploading more family info, trying to document family stories and relaxing.
Wednesday received a bill from IRS for $6685.00 due from 2012. LOL! This HUGE error being from my ex's 1099 MISC reported from his church.
Thursday lunch with my daughter at the Albuquerque Hispanic Cultural Center and touring the permanent art displays. Impressive art work. The restaurant name is La Fonda Del Bosque. They have a Business Lunch for $14.99. An appetizer, entrée and dessert. Had Caprese salad, Chicken sandwich made with fresh buffalo Mozzerella cheese, steak tomatoes on toasted Foccacia, Chipotle Aoili, accompanied by a house Caesar Salad and Crème Brulee. Told her I wanted to take Spanish classes offered there to regain all the words I've lost. She said she would take a beginning class if we could match our schedules. The instructors would most likely test me for appropriate class level---not beginning. Oh my. Would have to conjugate verbs again:) I took Spanish in junior and high school for easy credits;) Also received sound counsel from her. The mother learning from the daughter. Loved it!
Friday fixed the IRS problem. The agent was definitely from the kinder, gentler era. Thank God! Who wants a huge government debt hanging over their head??!! Agent documented our conversation, stopped the 3% Interest charges, and put the debt on hold pending the submitted supporting documents.
Saturday picked my sister and her hubby up to attend a family matanza held at Rosalie's son's house. He was a little kid the last I saw him. There was a lot of chatter when we walked up. Total silence when they saw us;) I said, "You all are probably wondering who the hell we are." Then Rosalie comes running up, hugs us and reminds them who we are:) Rekindled old connections, met new family. I hadn't seen many of these cousins since my son died 8 years ago. Didn't know many of their offspring. So much love. So many memories shared. Met the next 2 generations. Filled out a family tree for 3 more levels of descendants. The rain and light sleet (Thank You Lord for the much needed moisture) sent all of us under the tarps and putting on jackets as we talked and talked unwilling to break the connection. All of us from Grandma Deluvina's womb. There is nothing like the food made for a matanza. Red chili, pinto beans, papas con caldito, fajitas, tortillas, AND fresh chicharrones. Her mom made Natillas for me;) How sweet is that?:) Those that imbibe were treated to beer, Jose Cuervo and various drinks. Their keys were taken away;) And, nobody misbehaved.
I ended the evening with my sis at Isleta Casino. Spent my $40.00. The snack/coffee shop has the biggest, tastiest Banana Splits made with REAL ice cream the old fashioned way. We shared one of these lushes desserts while we talked and talked. She bought one to take to her hubby and grandson. I was reluctant to end the day. But, we had been "at it" all day.
As I sit and write this, looking at my old, dried out, wrinkled hands, I know there is no way to describe or give this past week any justice. Unless I was a foodie, which I'm not. Your hands will usually give your age away;) Just writing about things that will help to document our family history for those wanting to know.
Maybe I'll get bolder and start posting names. Maybe not.
Where does love go when it dies? Is it transferred to others? Does it vanish? Does the blood link strengthen love? How much love can our hearts hold? I think God made our hearts to hold infinitesimal love. The great I AM's creation. Letting us make choices and smiling when we make the right choice.
This is it in a nutshell:

Have a blessed week.
