We had a Christmas Dinner at the plex, catered by the Cooperage. Last time I ate there it was an upscale steak place. Pretty disappointed at what was served. Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes with grave, green beans & a roll. I guess since it was such a large crowd roast beast was out:) Anyway, met some nice people and the food was the perfect temperature:)
Finally got my COBRA insurance papers. BCBS TN Premier Medical Plan $687.75/mo. No COBRA for me. I found a much kinder, gentler plan in Albuquerque. ;)
Spoke with MK about church on Sunday, followed by breakfast at I-HOP or VI. Looking forward to going. This pastor is pretty dynamic online. The mission of the church is to spread the word and plant as many churches as possible. Reminds me a little of Pastor Chuck Smith who started the Jesus Movement which became Calvary.
Last Sunday had dinner at Yanni's with Gretchen & family. We have been friends for 35 years! Amazing. We freaked her hubby & son out with all the memories we laughed over. Her daughter is a great kid, and a Respiratory Therapist. We celebrated our birthdays together that night. We were born 3 days apart. Picked up right where we left off. Yanni's is a Greek restaurant that serves the best Dolmathes and Baklava in the city. We often went there to escape the craziness of work. We worked some crazy hours. Told them how to clear a table at a bar with medical descriptions of warm and went discharges of the lung:) We had great times. Gretch told her family that we would be doing some traveling "so there." That was her favorite final saying since we've known each other. Some things never change, no?
Was straightening up & unpacking more 'stuff' today. Listening to 107.1, texting with friends & family, and.....decided I was tired of using my dinner table as a desk. So, I called my son to meet me at Wal-Mart a block away from my place with his truck. This Wally World is huge! Got a little carried away, and decided to buy a TV, Blue Ray player, sound bar, desk and TV console with doors to stash some more YARN! Thanks Rudy!
Now I have to wait for my grandson-in-law to come over on Sat to help me put these things in the right places. Ah, the bliss of moving:) Also found a desk mat so I won't ruin the carpet. Also get to spend time with Rae & Bri without me having to rush somewhere.
Monday "doing lunch" with Lyd & Antoinette. Possibly visiting by Aunt in the NSH.
I love my apartment. I love being retired, connecting with friends and family, changing into my jams at 7 PM or 1 AM because, who cares what time I go to bed or get up.
Thank You Lord for the many blessings in my life.
You all have a great day:)
