Great service:
Today I got to my car after work and noticed lots of dirt on the windshield. We have more dirt than moisture in Deming. And, a woman's worst car nightmare, 2nd only to a flat tire: Srrreeeeeeeccchhh went the windshield wipers! Wondering if our local Wal-Mart changes said wipers, I drove to the automotive outlet section and met a wonderful, pleasant young man. "Yes, ma'am" was his answer to my query. "No, ma'am." when asked if I had to buy two sets of wipers. Why do automotive manufacturers make different size wipers for the same windshield? One of the unsolved mysteries, huh? (don't want to Google it) This young man took care of the problem and I was out of there in less than ten minutes!! All for the huge cost of $6.45. Thank you to the persons that reared this young man, as Southerner's are prone to say.
Not surprised:
We are launching a new record system on Tuesday. How much training have I had. NONE until this afternoon at 3:30 PM. But not a problem. I'm sure all of you have had this thrust upon your laps at one time or another. I will persevere;)
Got home and noticed immediately that someone had been in my house. You know how you just get that feeling? Saw where my ex had picked up his mail. First clue should have been when I checked the mailbox and only found mail addressed to me there. Wonder what else is missing.
In the middle of a conversation with my retirement company, my cell phone emergency warning goes off. It's very loud. Surpasses the volume key setting. Which is good, I think. Unfortunately it was for an Amber Alert in Santa Fe. Hopefully the perpetrator was caught quickly.
Bought Dollar General "Duct tape". Didn't stick to the boxes. Bought name brand Duct Tape. DIDN"T stick to the boxes. Hmm. A difference of almost $4.00 per role.
Crafter's panic vs frustration:
First room I packed up was my "yarn" room. Of course, there was more than just yarn in there. Sat down to unwind by crocheting a few rows on a trivet, changed colors, started to look for a yarn needle to weave in loose ends, and....... NO needle. Anywhere! Remembered that I still had the Needle Point Purse Project bag. Found not only one, but TWO yarn needles. Thank You Lord. Adrenaline rush avoided. Whew:)
Potpourri: (written over the course of the evening while still packing)
I'm sick of picking up the morning paper and seeing Miley in the news. Who cares? We have a six page newspaper and I'm sure that we can fill those spots with news worthy information. No?
They took the Cryptoquip out in favor of more cartoons. Not even Sudoku.
A nice steady drizzle of rain would be nice.
What happened to the paperless world?!
Packing sucks. Is this needed until THE moving day, or not?
My dogs love peanut butter treats.
Password protecting my laptop was a good thing.
Two loaded guns are better than one.
I am a yarn junkie.
You all have a good night. La dee da.
