The world of refinancing!!!!! Aiyeee!!!!

So we have been in the process of refinancing our house so that my ex can afford the payments & I can move to a smaller, more manageable place. Why would I do such a foolish thing you ask? I've asked myself that same question many times. But in this world of being valued for your credit score instead of for your accomplishments for humanity----I must do this. That way there will be no black mark on my credit score and I will be keeping a promise I made to my mother-in-law a week before she died. That promise being that I would make sure her son was not left homeless. Was she seeing something in the future? Don't know. But this let's me off the hook on both counts. He is not homeless because he will soon be able to afford the payments ( & hopefully get a refinance in his name only very soon) & I will have kept my promise. Call me old-fashioned, call me foolish, call me stupid. I'm still of the generation where your word is as good as a contract. RIP Peggy. You were a very good friend to me.
